What attendees have to say

For Good Planting Action Day

Flight Digital hosted their first Planting Action Day in partnership with CarbonInvoice. 1,235 native seedlings were planted at the Papakura Stream Restoration Project.

From measurement to real action

The team has been measuring their carbon footprint and funding native trees since 1 August 2024 to mitigate it. As a customer, they have their trees being funded on autopilot, which is very convenient for their business. But back in 2024, Victor Green, Managing Director, participated in a Community Planting Action day. He enjoyed it so much that they decided they wanted their entire team to take part in one. They saw the potential of it being a great team building event.

Finding team building activities that strengthens bonds can be hard. Finding team building activities that can strengthen bonds while creating a long lasting effect is even harder. Planting Action Days bring both together: planting native seedlings with the team that will stay there for many years to come.

“There was plenty of mud, plenty of laughs, and some pretty creative planting techniques on display. But more than anything, there was a shared sense of purpose and a crew of people showing up with heart.”

Building connections

Individual Champion

Sam Dean set the new 2025 individual record with an impressive 139 seedlings planted. Even more inspiring was Sam's decision to split the $1,000 prize donation between ChildFund New Zealand and Canteen Aotearoa, demonstrating how environmental action can amplify support for other vital causes.

The Flight Digital Spirit

What made this day truly special wasn't just the record-breaking numbers, but the authentic spirit that drove the action. The Flight Digital crew showed up with "sleeves rolled and hearts in it," embodying genuine commitment to environmental stewardship.

The team's approach to kaitiakitanga was grounded and purposeful – not performative, but deeply connected to creating meaningful change. This wasn't about corporate image; it was about people choosing to show up with purpose for something bigger than themselves.

Per-Person Excellence

The highest per-person planting rate of 2025 reflects both individual dedication and effective teamwork, proving that when purpose meets preparation, extraordinary results follow.

The day concluded with Flight Digital already planning their return, eager to continue their environmental restoration journey and invite more people to join this growing community of action.

1,235 seedlings planted, records broken, and a new standard set for what's possible when businesses embrace genuine environmental leadership. Flight Digital's For Good Planting Action Day proved that environmental action and business values can align to create lasting impact that extends far beyond a single day in the field.
